Art on 6th straddles Vancouver’s highly desirable South Granville and Kitsilano neighbourhoods. Art on 6th — and on Granville, too

Vancouver’s largest and most concentrated collection of art galleries and art dealers can be found here, earning South Granville the nickname, “Gallery Row” — and inspiring the name Art on 6th. The district hosts the annual ARTWALK in June, when locals and visitors alike are welcome to attend both art exhibitions and artist talks. Art on 6th residents will also find contemporary Indigenous art at the nearby Lattimer and Spirit Wrestler galleries as well as numerous artisan studios and art galleries on Granville Island.

If performing arts are more your style, the Stanley Theatre, Arts Club Granville Island Stage, Vancouver Theatresports League and Fifth Avenue Cinemas are all within walking distance.

Eat your art out

The neighbourhood is brimming with restaurants and cafes, with Art and 6th just a few blocks to standouts like Rangoli and The Farmer’s Apprentice, as well as premium casual dining spots like Earl’s and Cactus Club. Espresso joints like the Elysian Room, Prado Cafe and Starbucks are an easy walk, as is that most Canadian of coffee institutions, Tim Hortons. Beaucoup Bakery stands steps from Art on 6th, home to what Vancouver Magazine has declared the best croissant in the city.

Many unique boutiques can be found in South Granville, including Bacci’s, Boboli, Misch, Oliver & Lilly’s and Zonda Nellis, as well as noted labels such as Anthropologie, Eileen Fisher, Max Mara and TNA.

Lifestyle and furniture stores abound, including upscale Atkinson’s, Livingspace and Orling & Wu, plus well-known brands such as EQ3, Industrial Revolution and Pottery Barn. For those seeking pampering, the neighbourhood is served by numerous spas, healthcare service providers and fitness facilities.

Whether you’re after pampering or want to push yourself to the limit, Art on 6th’s neighbourhood has whatever it takes to make you feel great. Park by Art

Looking to live by green space? There’s a new park across the street from Art on 6th, with grass, seating, tables and a community garden. The rental tower is also just a block from the Arbutus Greenway, a north-south transportation corridor for pedestrians and cyclists that, when complete, will stretch from the Fraser River to False Creek.
